scratch biult

Starting from scratch is a fun way to end up with a hangar full of models. With the number of plans available for free on the internet and depron foam readily available, why not try a fun foamy scratch-built model.  Here are some we've built and flown.

The F-22 depron or fan fold foam model from internet plans from tomhe is a fun-flying model with a mid-mount motor.

Building a model from scratch has been a interest of mine for a while. I didn’t really see myself as a balsa modeler so I was interested in the models being built and discussed in the scratch-built foamy section of the E-Zone.

The F-22 from internet plans from user tomhe on the E-Zone was my second depron scratch-built project. I learned a couple of lessons from the Fan Trainer also reviewed on this site. The big lesson was using low tack spray adhesive by Krylon to attach the paper pattern pieces on the foam.
